Brighton’s Cannabis Masterchef
& His Secret Stoner Banquets
For many years, the UK had a worldwide reputation for atrocious food, from soggy railway sandwiches to insultingly-poor misinterpretations of Italian and Indian classics. But over the last two decades or so, the quality and consistency of cuisine in the UK has meant that major cultural cities like London and Brighton are now winning all the foodie accolades, while the late great champions in France and Italy are starting to lose out a little.
These days, the UK’s restaurant scene is highly innovative, and highly competitive – and in some cases, highly high. Let’s give you an example…
Some years back, a young chef popped up on the Brighton scene, quickly establishing himself on the local circuit. But establishing an award-winning gastropub and becoming a fast favorite among the local gourmands was not enough for our hero, who felt a nagging need to cater to an even more sophisticated palate.
Of course, our masterchef’s secret ingredient is cannabis – and he serves it up in quite a special way. Every month, a select list of cannabis connoisseurs are invited to a secret location for a five-course gourmet feast, featuring the finest of cannabinoid-infused delicacies. This secretive purveyor of sumptuous stoner sustenance keeps a low profile, but can be found by searching Instagram for @kitchenburns.
On arrival, guests will be greeted with a canna-infused twist on a classic cocktail – a Peach BeLEANi (“lean” is a UK slang word that basically just means “high”)!
So what can a lover of cannabis cuisine expect at these exclusive, hush-hush events? Let’s take the reader through the mouth-watering menu planned for the next event, which takes place on January 27th 2017…
On arrival, guests will be greeted with a canna-infused twist on a classic cocktail – a Peach BeLEANi (“lean” is a UK slang word that basically just means “high”)! Next, diners will be presented with an appetizer of Prawn and Casey Jones Wontons garnished with Nam Jim & Coriander Dressing.
For the main course, guests can expect an exquisite Confit Duck with Liberty Haze Hash Brown, Pancetta Crisp, Black Cabbage and Purple Buds. Dessert will be a sumptuous Afghan Chocolate Tart with Walter White Panna Cotta and Sesame Shatter Snap.
Between courses, guests will be fed sumptuous refreshers and nibbles including the intriguingly-named UGORG Disco Biscuit. Furthermore, dabs will be provided by one of London’s most respected extraction teams, who go by the name of Team10 Extracts, as well as Brighton collective BobbyLuvsWeed, who make world-class extracts to be vaporized but NOT combusted!
To round everything off, each guest will be presented with a box of special edition Space Rocks to take home! Truly a special meal – and quite reasonably priced at £75 ($90) per person.
So if you’re ever in Brighton, make sure to look up KitchenBurns and find out if there are any upcoming events – you definitely won’t be sorry you attended, unless being so full and so high that physical movement becomes difficult ain’t your thing…
